Machine Vision - Needle Inspection

Using a PPT Vision System, Mercator Robotec implemented a series of inspections for a customer in the medical industry.  These inspections included the following:

• Testing whether a needles angular orientation was within a specified tolerance (see below)

• Measuring the rotation of the needle's bevel and calculating the required adjustment to seat the needle properly

• Measuring tubing diameter and testing for specified tolerance

• Various part present/not present tests

• Packaging tests that ensure that the final product is packaged properly

Below, an image of the needle is shown.  This is the image used to inspect whether or not the angle falls within a specified tolerance. 

Below, a screen shot is provided of the interface that was created.  As you can see, multiple tabs were created to view various images as well as various groups of data that were being collected throughout the run.
